After failing 2 driving tests many years ago with 2 different driving instructors, I decided to give driving a go again 6 years later. I took lessons with only Steve and he taught me absolutely everything I needed to know to pass my test! I passed first time after my 6 year break, and I couldn’t be happier, and I definitely couldn’t have done it without his fantastic teaching skills and knowledge that he’s been teaching me each and every lesson. Definitely the best driving instructor in the area, everyone should be lucky to have him as their instructor!

Steve has been a fantastic instructor throughout my months of learning. I started out with little to no skills, and by test day felt very confident and proficient at driving, all of which a credit to Steve’s client-focused teaching methods. Steve is friendly and welcoming, and I always felt safe in the knowledge that he would be there to intervene if anything went wrong. As someone who developed bad driving habits during practice with my dad, Steve helped me to iron all of them out, and become a much safer user on the road. I found Steve was able to meet my learning needs well, and used unorthodox methods if needs be to make sure all aspects of my driving were well-drilled. After passing with only two minors, I would thoroughly recommend Steve for anyone either completely new to driving, or needing to brush up on their skills. He has made the learning experience easy for me, and worked hard to make sure I had enough hours with him each week, even working on a bank holiday prior to the test to make sure I felt confident. I would highly recommend Steve as a driving instructor to anyone who wishes to learn with a teacher who is patient and will teach you in detail about how to drive and safety on the road. Steve tailors the lessons to what you want to learn and he also gives great feedback on areas where you may need improving. When I first began driving I was extremely nervous but Steve made sure that I was confident with the basics and helped me out a lot when we headed out onto the road. With each lesson I became more comfortable and confident with driving, to the point that when it came to my test I was more than ready. I appreciate all of Steve’s hard work and would highly recommend him as an instructor.

Steve Cannings is a great driving instructor for someone who is not familiar to driving. Although I had driving experience, I was a dangerous driver who did not consider other people on the road. Steve made me a much better driver by being honest about my weaknesses and making sure that I improved overall on both my own perceptions of my driving. By asking me what I wanted to do during lessons, he gave me the power to improve where I thought I had weaknesses and become a stronger driver by building confidence in my own abilities. Steve is an excellent teacher, he is very patient and professional. Before him I had a few bad instructors who really affected my confidence. However, after a couple of lessons with Steve I no longer dreaded driving and my nerves eased. He found a method of teaching that worked well for me and after lots of encouragement and guidance I passed my test first time.
